30 minutes to master the key points of the Biocides Regulation

Biocidal products are preparations of active substances for domestic or industrial use. They are used to protect humans, animals and the environment from harmful organisms (animals, bacteria, etc.).

Since 1st September 2013, biocidal products have been regulated at European and national levels. This regulation aims at harmonising their marketing and use.

The procedures for placing a biocidal product on the market differ according to the status of the active substance and the market targeted. In order to choose the right procedure and be in compliance, it is essential to understand and take into account the regulatory requirements of the Biocidal Products Regulations (BPR).

What is a biocidal product? What are the procedures in place to ensure their marketing?

Agenda:

  • Definitions and general principles for the marketing of a biocidal product
  • Active substances: statutes and approval procedures
  • Biocidal products: the different types of authorisation and associated processes
