Microfluidics provide advantages in fluid handling capabilities, scalability, robustness, and automation. In the past ten years, programmable microfluidic platforms have been implemented, allowing to perform typical fluidic operations such as mixing, sampling, washing, and reacting automatically within a single microfluidic chip only by modifying the sequence/order of fluidic operations using a software. They are useful in biological and chemical applications, such as quantitative metabolic biomarker and genetic analysis4,5, protein-based biomarker detection6, or small molecule chemical and environmental analysis7. Among these mechanisms, pneumatic actuation is the most reliable method due to the simplicity of fabrication, ease-of-use, scalability, and a high degree of accuracy, precision, and reliability.
This webinar will show how to combine Fluigent systems and software for the sequential injection of fluids within a microfluidic chip developed by the CEA-LETI to perform pumping, mixing, sampling, and cleaning.
