Regulation of cosmetic: a pragmatic approach of the assessment of packaging

The cosmetic regulation now requires to assess the impact of the packaging on the safety of the cosmetic product.

CEHTRA is skilled in providing pragmatic approaches to evaluate the packaging and content interactions.

CEHTRA’s strategy is to calculate and model predictions based on available data provided by the supplier of the packaging and the producers of the raw materials.  CEHTRA uses estimated exposure levels coupled with an assessment of their hazard to assess the safety of the product packaging and to ensure it fully complies with Regulation EC No 1223/2009.

Only after carrying out this approach would we recommend conducting tests on identified potential migrants in the intended conditions of use of the cosmetic product.
