The European Commission has a new President, Ursula von der Leyen. She has chosen to make climate her top priority by establishing a European Green Deal in her first 100 days in Office. To deliver this deal, she nominated several key people. Among them, Frans Timmermans as Executive Vice-President of the European Commission, Mariya Gabriel for youth & innovation, Kadri Simson for energy will work together to support clean energy innovation in Europe. They are being grilled by the European Parliament from September 30th to October 8th.
